The Faceless Ones

Valkyrie Cain is a highly unusual fourteen - year old girl. Her best friend and mentor is a skeleton and a mage, Skulduggery Pleasant. She has a magical reflection who stands in for her at home while she goes off on numerous adventures with Skulduggery and other miscreants.

This time she must try to stop the "Faceless Ones" (ancient gods) from returning to her world, and killing everyone that she loves. To succeed in her task though, Valkyrie must decide who she can trust.

This book is the third installment in the "Skulduggery Pleasant" series, and makes a lot more sense if you read the other two books in the series first. I loved this book and recommend it to people who like magic/fantasy books.
