Matched

Cassia Reyes lives in a perfect world, controlled by "The Society." People are matched, (paired with someone according to their genes and personalities.) When they are seventeen they date each other until they are twenty - one, when they are married. They have children at age twenty - four, and die at eighty. Meals, emotions, and books are controlled, and everyone is perfectly happy to do exactly what the society tells them to.... Right?

Cassia always thought she would be matched with someone outside her community. Imagine her surprise when she discovers that her match is none other than one of her lifelong friends. Cassia is overjoyed, until she sees another persons picture in her file. However an official comes to her house to explain that there was a "slip-up" and that she is still going to be matched to her lifelong friend. But The Society doesn't make mistakes. Does it?
