In Denver, Robin, a.k.a Bird, was one of the most popular girls in the school. She and the other people in her group wore the same colour clothes, and talked the same way, and even made fun of the same less popular kids. When Robin’s mom hears about a cruel prank that the kids in Robin’s group pulled, she decides to pull up their roots in Denver, and move to Prairie Dog, Oklahoma. Bird is boiling mad, and plots her revenge. When they reach Prairie Dog, and Bird goes to register at the local middle school, she is mistaken for the interim school principal. Why would Bird correct anyone, when this prank is the perfect way to get back at her mother? Bird is determined to make a difference in her new school before she’s found out. But when Bird sits down in the principal’s chair she has an unexpected change in perspective, and wants to change the way things work in her school, for the better.
